The Bear Cave

Dad is doing better. He is still in ICU but they have taken the respirator off and brought him out of the medical coma. He is not out of the woods but things are better.

Well life is a funny thing. My dad was doing well in his recovery from his cancer surgery. I even started back at school because it looked like he was on the road to recovery.

That all changed this week when we found out that he had a blockage in his small intestine. The blockage turned out to be a knot and part of the intestine had died and was poisoning him. He went in for emergency surgery and was put into ICU in very bad condition.

Tonight when I got home I found out they had to put him into a metical coma to keep him from pulling out the things keeping him alive and so he can heal.

To say that life has gotten a little sucky right now is an under statement. I do have good people in my life that help make it bearable so I won’t totally wig out. I will however be a bear to be around as I hold things together.

Well dad’s cancer is not as good as we had hoped. He was going to have surgery to remove the tumor, but the day before they fount out that the tumor had grown to a point that they did not feel they could take it out safely. They now want to do radiation therapy for 8 weeks to shrink the tumor. We hope that it will shrink enough so it can be taken out and they he will not need more radiation.


On the brighter side I finally got a new job. It will be working in construction as a project manager. My starting salary is more than I have ever made before. I start on Monday 20th at 6:30am. All I have to do now is go shopping for some new close and shoes. The good thing is that I will not need to wear ties.

Well Dad had tests today. It will take 2 days to get the results to find out what he has.

On the brighter side got a call about a job today. After 20 minutes on the phone talking they want me to come in for an interview at 1 tomarrow. Will have to see how it go's.

Ok so things with my dad are bad. Yes it is the big C. There is going to be more tests to see how bad the bad is.

Ok we are going on 8 months with out finding a job. I have to say that it is getting a little depressing. I am either way over qualified for the job or I do not have a degree. I do not get the jobs that think I am over qualified for because they feel I will leave in short order when I finish school. With out a degree jobs that I have experience for will not higher me. This puts me in a tough spot.

Too top it all off, I found out from my mother that my father is not doing well. He has had tests but we have not heard the results. He has an appointment tomorrow so hopefully we can get some news. I am not going to go into what it could be, but it could be really bad just have to wait and see.

Ok going to crawl back into my hole.

Well got a call today telling me that the job was given to the other guy. They said they thought he was a better fit. Well I just will keep plugging along to find something.

Just got a call from a company that is looking to set up an interview with me about a job. The guy I need to see was in a meeting so when they can talk to him they will call with the date and time. It looks like I need to do some shopping.

Just spent over tree days with an ugly migrain. Today I am doing better. Now to get school up to date.

On March 19th at 9:30 I will be getting my hair cut short. I am looking forward to it.

Well after weeks of fighting it looks like I got that dam stomach flu. Blahh

Well after 6 months of thinking about it I think I will get my hair cut short at my next appointment. Yep after 12 years of long hair I will be back to the way it was when I got out of the military.

Well got a call from a Head Hunter today. Looks like I got my first real lead on a job in 2 months. Will have to see what comes from it.

Well it is my B-day. I am still unemployed. Want to have a day where I can just do things I want too but got things I need being done. I hope I will be able to do the fun things later.

For the first time in 21 years of work I am officaly unemployed.

Well Got sick this week. Felt like I was run over by a truck. For the ones that know me all I can say is I was cold and could not get warm. Sorry to all I have not called back.

Well the class I thought I tanked because I stopped trying in, I got a B. Not sure how that happened, I did not turn any of the writing assignments that included the final. Well I won’t complain I get the credits.

Well was having problems with my liver according to the doctors but got a phone message on the machine saying my last blood work was just fine and all is good. Well first thing Monday I am going to call the doc’s office and get an appointment to talk about how every is all good. Over the last few years they have had me run around get blood work telling my liver has a problem and then the blood work turns out fine after a few months and “all is good”. Well not this time, they are going to sit down and tell my why they keep doing this because if there is a next time they are going to supply the blood when I get through with them.

Well it looks like mother nature is going to make the first part of the coming week hell for me. I wish it would just snow or just rain I hate this mixture crap.

Well I did my first LARP and for the most part I had a great time. I think it will be better when more people from the group show up.

I tanked my last class. My teacher was not one for giving back imput. I sent her about 9 emails over the 8 week course and only got one reply. I last interest and it was down hill from there. I will take the course over later with a differant teacher.

My glass are a curse and a god send. I hate that I have to waer them but I love the fact that my head aches have gone away. I only need them right now for close up things. I hope that they stay as they are and I will look into getting the fixed with the laser thing in a few years.

The rest of stuff is going ok. I have reached a point for the time being that things are calm and nice. Not sure what will happen in the future but I will deal with it when it comes. I am not going to worry about the future right now had alot happen in the year with health and personal stuff I am just going to enjoy the calm.

Not only do I need glasses to concentrate on things up close, I also needed to go on blood pressure meds.

Well I now feel like I am getting old. I ordered glasses today. I need them for doing close up things. My left eye is 3 levels below my right. My right eye is 20/20. I get head aches trying to focus on things after a bit. I wont need to wear them most of the time, but will need them for school and anything that is long that needs reading.

Well I have been back to work for about 3 weeks now. The shoulder is feeling better and getting stronger. This is one long road to recovery. Now that the shoulder is better I am from time to time getting the pain, numbness and loss of hearing in the side of my face again. Was talking with my therapist about it and she said that my first rib feels like it is too high and might be causing problems but I should talk to my ortho-doc. I go see the doc at the end of the month, will have to see what he says.

I started my new class, Principles of Management. There is way more writing than I like, but I should be ok.

Well back to drinking a beer and homework.
